Chapter 3: Settlement Patterns and Ways of Life in Canada
In this chapter, students explore how location affects way of life in Canada's regions. Population, economic activity, language, and climate will be discussed.
Chapter Objectives
Students will:
• analyze the characteristics of each of Canada's regions.
• explain how location affects way of life in Canadian regions.
• evaluate the importance of location on ways of life around the world
Chapter 8: Migration to the United States - Impact on People and Places
In this chapter, students learn about the push and pull factors that cause people to migrate to the United States. They explore the impact of migration on both the United States and the countries those people left behind.
Chapter Objectives
Students will
• understand the reasons people emigrate from their birth countries and immigrate to the United States.
• identify the key ways in which migration impacts the United States, immigrants, and the countries they left behind.
• learn about other immigration patterns around the world.
